Fil-AM Golf 2010 House Rules

 

HR-1: In case of a tie, or ties, the winner will be determined as follows:

  1. Whoever has the lower (or lowest) total net score in the back nine (gross score – 1/2 of course handicap) wins.

  2. In case of a tie still exists, we proceed to the net score of the last six holes (gross score – 1/3 of course handicap) and then the last three holes (gross score – 1/6 of course handicap).  Note that the fractional handicap (1/2, 1/3, and 1/6) are rounded off to the nearest whole number and then deducted from the gross score.

  3. Co-winners will be declared if there is still a tie. (rev. 6/30/08)

 

HR-2: New members who have not posted a minimum of five scores will be allowed to post a minimum net score of even par.  During the first five (5) tournaments of a new member, the handicap will be the declared handicap or the lowest score is posted, whichever is better. (rev. 4/25/07)

 

HR-3: Guests are not eligible to win tournament

 

HR-4: Members who have not paid their annual membership dues prior to start of tournament will not be eligible to any awards or prizes.

 

HR-5: Fil-AM Member Tournament Awards:

  1. First place – Minimum $30 cash prize

  2. Trophies Awarded to 1st and 2nd Lowest Net

 

HR-6: Fil-AM Member Tournament Points

  1. First place (8)

  2. Second place (5)

  3. Third place (3)

  4. Attendance: (1)

 

HR-7: Rule of 7

  1. Participating players will be arranged in ascending handicap index order, groupings will be evenly divided into a maximum of 3 Flights (Class A, Class, B, and Class C). 

  2. There shall be a minimum of 7 paid club members in each grouping

 

HR-8: Class Groupings (revised 3-8-08) (rev. 6/30/08)

  1. Class A: 0-12  course handicap

  2. Class B: 13-22 course handicap

  3. Class C: 23 -30 course handicap (maximum handicap is 30)

 

HR-9: The use of USGA approved distance measuring devices will be included as part of the “Local Rules” on all tournaments.  Measuring devices that are capable of measuring other conditions that might affect play such as changes in elevation, wind speed, compass readings are not allowed unless the additional function other than measuring distance can be disabled during play. HR-10: A member must settle any dues with the Club Officer prior to start of the tournament to be eligible to win.  Examples of dues referred to here are:

  1. Membership fee

  2. Tournament fee from previous cancellation after sign up deadline

  3. Tournament fee for a “No Show”.

 

HR-11: Desert Rule – To be implemented only when the golf course strictly enforces its desert rule.  If it does, we shall consider the desert as a “water hazard” where the yellow stake or red stake ruling applies.  Relief can be taken to the nearest grass (outside the desert area) no nearer the hole and incur a one stroke penalty.  If the ball is considered lost in the desert, it shall be

considered as lost in the hazard.  We shall follow the USGA rules for lateral or water hazard, still with penalties assessed.  No penalty is incurred if one elects to hit from the “hazard”.  Under no circumstance will we make the desert as “ground under repair”. (adopted 6/30/08)

 

HR-12: Hitting from wrong Tee Box – Two stroke penalty and re-tee from tournament designated tee box. If player continues to play ball from wrong tee box and holes out, the player is deemed disqualified.

HR-13: PGC members (Pinoy Golfers Club of Arizona) who are not member of Fil-Am Golf that wish to play at Fil-Am Golf tournament events will be allowed to use their latest PGC handicap index for a maximum of 5 events. After 5 events the Fil-Am Golf handicap index is calculated and will be henceforth used regardless of their PGC handicap index. USGA handicap formula requires at least 5 events to initially establish a person’s handicap.

 

In addition the PGC member must initially pay the Fil-Am Golf annual membership fee of $25 before a tournament commences in order to be eligible for the tournament awards or prizes. This same rule applies to existing Fil-Am members as well (see HR-4).
