Skins
This year we are adding a new competition called skins.
In golf, a skins event has players compete for prize money on each individual hole.
What is it?
This is an individual player participation to build up a balance in the pro shop.
How much does it cost?
Each player contributes one dollar a week that is only used if you play that week.
I ask that you contribute $10 to start so I don’t have to have someone collect a dollar each week.
This will give you ten weeks of participation. Remember if you do not play your contribution balance is carried to the next week.
I must have the dollar before you tee off or you will not participate that week.
How does it work?
This is a NET lowest score for the nine holes you are playing that week the kitty for your nine holes depends on the number of participating players playing those nine holes.
There will be two kitty’s per week one Front and one Back.
Each week the participating player or players who score the lowest NET on any hole will receive a “Skin”. Ties are eliminated.
The total “Skins” are divided into the pool for that nine holes and result is awarded to the players winning the “Skin”
Each week there will be a report given to Casey showing the players’ awarded balances.
So lets say there are 25 people in this weeks skins. 15 are playing the Front nine and 10 are playing the Back nine.
On Hole 2 a player scores a birdie – if he was getting a stroke he would have a NET 3.
If no one else gets a NET 3 or lower that player gets a “Skin”.
Another player gets a Net 3 on hole 5 and a NET 1 on hole 8.
If no one else gets a NET 3 or lower on hole 5 or a NET 1 or lower on hole 8 that player gets two “Skins”.
If those are the only “Skins” then each skin is worth $5.
Player 1 now has $5 in Pro shop credit and player 2 has $10 in Pro shop credit.
The credit can be used anytime during the season and must be used by the time the pro shop closes in the fall.
What happens if no one wins a “skin”?
For that pool the lowest NET score and ties will be awarded a skin.
For example player A. handicap 9, shoots a 41. Net 32.
Player B, handicap 12, shoots a 44. Net 32
No one else has a net 32 and Net 32 is the lowest of the participating players.
They each get a skin and divide the pool.
