  2011Season at Heatherwoode - Updated 09/30/11

End of 2011 Season

It's that sad time of year again when our season has come to an end. It's been another great year of golf. Course conditions were really great at Heatherwoode compared to some of the other area courses. Hats off again to the Heatherwoode staff for taking great care of us...still need to work on the 19th hole a bit, but all in all, it was a great year.

Based on the survey feedback, we will plan to be back at Heatherwoode again next season on Tuesday nights. We will need to wait until next spring, when we renew with Heatherwoode, to determine if the shotgun start time will change.

Reminder to everyone to try to recruit more league members during the off-season. We would like to get back up to 16 teams next year if possible.

Thanks again to everyone for making this a fun league with great fellowship throughout the summer!

Email to Sub List

I have created a new menu item to the left (Email to Sub List) that just has the sub email addresses that can be highlighted and cut/pasted as a group into an email.

Please continue to use the sub list to arrange for subs ahead of time if you know you will not be able to play so that we can have complete foursomes.

League Setup/Rules Changes - Clarification added for hole maximum\

NEW FOR 2011: We are trying something new this year with the max stroke rule. The maximum strokes you can get for a natural score will remain 3 over par. However, if you do not hole out at 3 over par or less, or you pick up before holing out, your score will be 4 over par. If you pick up or score more than 3 over par, please be sure to write down your score correctly as 4 over par and circle the score so that it can be easily identified when enterring the scores into the League Manager software.

Simply put, if you don't hole out at 3 over par, your score should be marked as 4 over par.

This change will allow for more accurate awarding of points. If both players competing against each other pick up, the points will be split as a tie, regardless of any handicap points being given on the hole.

SPECIAL TEE: We have 1 hole each week that is picked as a special tee hole, getting an advantage of using the Senior (Black) tee box the first half of the season and then the Championship (Green) tee box the second half of the season.

Reminder for all to review and follow the League Rules provided in the menu options to the left for consistency in scoring.
