Team 2 was victorious last evening and as a result will face Team 5 next Friday for the Season Trophy. Everyone is able to play that evening even if you are not playing in the Playoff round. Final season stats have been posted and will be carried into the Playoff round as well as the Field Day event. Field Day is set for 09/18 at 12:30. Price to be determined but should be around $45 to $50 including dinner. A sign up sheet will be available next Friday or by contacting Bob or the Secretary. Five teams have already signed up so get your team together right away.

Here are the final standings for the second half:
Team 4 245.5
Team 2 242.5
Team 8 236.5
Team 1 213.5
Team 7 199.0
Team 3 196.0
Team 5 187.5
Team 6 159.5
I should point out that Team 8 would have pushed into second place were it not for the fact that Team 2 picked up 24 unanswered points when two of their opponents did not show up. It is really important to make sure you have a full roster every night. Position night for the second half is next Friday. Team Captains, please get me your team rosters as soon as possible. The "Comish" will be working on Field Day time, cost and day so keep an eye open for more information. See everyone next week.
Here are the most recent team standings:
Team 4...207
Team 2...206
Team 8...198
Team 1...189
Team 7...179
Team 5...165
Team 3...156
Team 6...138
With Team 4 playing Team 6 this Friday which is the last regular night for the second half of the season, it appears as if Team 4 is in the driver's seat although Team 6 would love to be the "spoiler" allowing Team 2 to move into 1st Place. There has been some recent discussion regarding how the system computes player handicaps. The system is set to score the most recent six scores and dropping the highest two of the six scores.Check the most recent handicaps as there were some very good scores posted last week.

Great night for golf last evening. Team 5 powerd through Team 4 for the 1st Half Position Night and take GREAT momentum into the 2nd Half season. Lots of b.s. was flying after the night with Team 5 promising to take the 2nd Half of the season and thereby eliminating the need for a Playoff after the season! Let's hope the rest of the season isn't as weather challenged as the first half. Check with your Team Captains about your schedule as the 04/15 rainout will now start impacting your schedules.
06/10/2011
Team 5 plays Team 4 for the 1st half Position Night. Contact your Team Captains to make sure if you are supposed to play given the 1st half rainout. No subs are allowed for either Team 5 or Team 4 on Position Night. Good Luck!

Unique items. Peter Matt who is a 5 handicap shot nine straight 5's. Even the Secretary could add his score without a calculator. Last week, Pat Hillyer won flag prizes for long drive and short drive on the same night. Not sure either of these two things has happened in the past. Team 4 and 5 remain deadlocked in the first two spots as they were entering the night. These two Titans square off next week for the top spot just before entering into the first Posititon Night. Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

Check out a unique happening in the league play. Pat Hillyer won long drive and short drive flag prizes on the same night!! Team standings shifted a lot with the bad weather last week. Some teams did not field a full team and others didn't play as well in the cold and windy conditions. Tomorrow night may not be much weather. Can't remember a spring where more Friday night events were in jeopardy.See everyone on the 20th.
05/12/2011
Check out the great match held between John Beers and Lee Kathol where the points were split evenly. Great match! See everyone on the 13th.

High winds really pushed scores up last week with the low score being a 40! The Secretary cannot remember a night when the league did not have a single member in the 30's. Scores are sure to improve as the weather warms up. If you were scheduled to play on 04/15 which was rained out, you will instead be playing on 06/10 with the first half position night now being set for a week later, i.e. 06/17. Please call your Team Captains regarding any questions about your schedule. See everyone next week.
04/15/2011
League play is off for tonight. Look for updates to the Schedule later on.

League Captains met 02/21/2011 and should be contacting all team members for availability for the new season. Dues have been raised $5 to $165 and should be paid to your league Captains as soon as possible but no later than April 1st. We will again have 8 Teams which will remain the same as last years.League play starts on April 15th, takes the next week off on April 22nd for Good Friday and then resumes the next week for the balance of the season, ending 08/12/2011. Tee time remains 5:42 p.m. so make sure you are there early to hit a few warm up balls and get loose prior to your tee off! Team Captains please get your season schedules in to me by April 1st so that they can be loaded into the League Manager in plenty of time for everyone to view prior to the opening round. Also, please update team member phone numbes. Some are quite old and most certainly no longer current so your help here is again appreciated.
Field Day rate is $45 but the date has yet to be determined. We are trying to coordinate on a NU game Saturday to include golf, etc but also work in dinner while watching NU beat their opponent soundly. Hopefully, this will draw a little more interest than in previous years. We plan to mix up the Field Day event also so stay tuned for more information on this!
New this year is the rule regarding improving your lie in the rough. This year, we will allow your golf ball to be moved in both the fairway and the rough by six inches, no nearer the hole, except if the ball lies out of bounds or in a hazard where the normal rules apply. If any of you have any concerns about this new rule, please blog your thoughts on our site. Also, there seems to be a lot of confusion regarding signing in on Friday nights. This results in having to redo the score cards after the rounds are over which takes a lot of time! As a result, this year the cards will not be pre-populated so check out the League Manager site each week to see who you may be paired up against, which side you tee off on, ec. Your help here will make things run much smoother also.
FYI, Miracle Hills is celebrating 50 Years of service this year so check out their website for free giveaways! Fairways have ben overseeded. Ground crews will know by 3:00 p.m. each Friday as to whether the Course is closed do to inclement weather so if you cannot get in contact with your Team captain, then call the Course to see if the League play will still be on. Senior rates apply all day for everyone 55 and older. $22.50 Monday thru Thursday, and $26.50 on Fridays. This includes a cart! Great rate.Pre-league rates apply as in the past if you want to get in a quick nine before league play.Just be sure to mention you want to take advantage of the pre-league rates. Draft beer after league play is $2.25 and regular beer is $3.25.
Call with any questions. See everyone in a few weeks!!!
